Aloft Star Offers Upcoming Artists to Compete for Chance to Record and Release a Single

The finalists will be mentored by composer Salim Merchant, singer and actress Rachel Liang, Korean artist SAAY and Australian radio presenter Alex Dyson

In an attempt to put the spotlight on undiscovered and up-and-coming artists, bands and songwriters; Marriott International’s Aloft Hotels and Universal Music Group have launched Project: Aloft Star Asia Pacific. To enter the competition, artists will need to submit two original songs on the contest website page till July 31st.

The Asia Pacific edition is open to regions in five clusters which include Australia, Greater China, India, South-East Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand) and South Korea. From the entries submitted, five finalists each from one zone will be selected for an all-expense paid trip to Seoul to battle it out in the grand finale held at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong on September 20th.

For the winning artist, prizes include A&R mentoring from Universal Music Group, which consist of selecting a single to record and expert guidance throughout the process. A professional recording session to track the single and an accompanying music video to be produced and released by Universal Music Group.

The mentors for the finalists will be Indian singer and composer Salim Merchant, Greater China singer and actress Rachel Liang, Korean R&B performing artist SAAY and Australian radio presenter Alex Dyson.  Each finalist will also receive 100,000 Rewards points redeemable for stays at participating Marriott International hotels around the world.

After the entry date closes, fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists and bands from September 3rd till 19th. Also, three voters who predict the winner and state a reason why they picked them will stand a chance to win 50,000 reward points.
