Announcing Live From The Console Festival Line-Up

The Mumbai-bred fortnightly indie showcase will now be a two-day festival to be held this December in Goa

Last year, Sony Music’s indie label Day One and Oranjuic Entertainment gave Mumbai a live night showcasing upcoming indie talent in the form of fortnightly series of concerts called Live From The Console. After a slot on TV music channel 9XO, fans of the night can now look forward to a two-day music festival that will be held on December 29th and 30th in Goa.

The last weekend of the year will see Live At The Console festival take to South Goa’s reclusive Colva beach where close to 15 Indian and international artists taking centre stage. Owen Roncon of Oranjuic Entertainment says the last festival of the year will be an intimate fest for people to wind down from their exhaustion from attending previous festivals. The three-day EDM festival Sunburn 2012 will end a day before December 28th, 2012.  “It will be a chilled-out festival. We are trying to bring in a new wave of musicians that we believe are really good. The music programming is alternative and features upcoming talent from the country and abroad,” says Roncon. The line-up includes Alisha Pais, Siddharth Basrur, Sky Rabbit, Peter Cat Recording Company, Tough on Tobacco and The Colour Compound. The international acts confirmed to perform include New York-based indie pop band Cults, American electro rockers AWOLNATION and Bob Marley’s son Julian Marley.

Organizers are expecting to draw a moderate number. “We’ve made arrangements for not more than 5,000 people and are hoping that the fact that it is being organized in South Goa and the music will be filters for people who are really interested to show up,” says Roncon. There will also be shuttle buses organized from various points in the city to hop on and attend the festival. Tickets are prized at Rs 2,500 for one-day and Rs 3,000 for two-days.
