Bhayanak Maut, Madboy/Mink, Prateek Kuhad and more Set for The Gig Week 2015
The annual Delhi week-long gig series returns between December 13th and 20th at clubs across the capital
After nearly a year-long silence, the organizers of Delhi’s The Gig Week finally announced they had their fifth edition in the works. After wrapping up last year’s edition, which featured everyone from Delhi rockers Superfuzz to Mumbai’s very own alt rock band Zero in November, news of the 2015 edition of the week-long series came through just last month.
Slated to take place between December 13th to December 20th, The Gig Week stays true to its aim of bringing bands that the capital doesn’t see nearly enough of in their live circuit, genre no bar. This year’s top acts include Mumbai metallers Bhayanak Maut, electro-swing duo Madboy/Mink and hip hop act Bombay Bassment, as well regular crowd-pullers such as singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad [who played at The Gig Week 2014 as well] among a total of 21 artists performing every day for a week across Delhi clubs.
From metal to jazz to hip hop and electronica, The Gig Week sets up in venues ranging from the brand-new BandStand bistro and bar, to the dedicated venue Antisocial in Hauz Khas Village. Bands to watch out for include a cappella group Voctronica, the recently-regrouped Delhi tech/thrash metallers Artillerie and alt/prog rockers October, fresh from their trip to Kohima, Nagaland, where they bagged second place at the Hornbill International Rock Contest.
