In a new teaser video posted on YouTube, Blur has announced they will be unveiling two new tracks live on Twitter. As bassist Alex James narrates, the video cuts to idyllic scenes of what’s presumably London, with a few strange cuts to live Blur footage. James reveals the band will debut two new songs, “Under the Westway” and “The Puritan,” and will stream the performances on their official Twitter page. Both songs were written by Blur for their upcoming Hyde Park show on August 12th, coinciding with the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.

“This is something that happens incredibly rarely and who knows if it will happen again, whether this is the end or the beginning of the next chapter,” says James in the video. Both songs will debut on July 2nd on Blur’s Twitter. A limited edition 7″ with the tracks will be out August 6th.
