Gutslit is a four-piece extreme metal band from Mumbai, formed in November 2007. The band went through a number of lineup changes over the years, and released their debut EP Contorted Mutilation. In 2010, the band played their first international performance at SickChainsaws in Bangkok. Through 2010, they organized and played a series of gigs in Mumbai called MeatFest. They will be playing at the Czech metal festival Obscene Extreme.
It technically was a 3 piece band initially due to the scarcity of drummers who were willing or able to play grind in India & it was decided that a drummer would be taken into the Gutslit camp only if they could find someone suitable. So the band used a drum machine for live shows till November 2008.
Then in early 2009, Abhishek Nandi joined the lineup as the drummer.
In 2009, the band joined forces with French Grind Veterans, Pulmonary Fibrosis and released a two way EP under Cataleptic Remains Productions by the name: Contorted Mutilation.
They played at SickChainsaws at Bangkok with Putrid Pile (USA), Lacerate (Thailand), Intricated (Thailand) and Calamatous (Thailand) in March 2010.
The band members got actively involved in the Indian scene and organized shows promoting Indian metal bands and providing them with stage by hosting their own fest by the name: “MeatFeast”.
In the end of 2010, the band decided to part ways with the Vocalist due to some personal issues and soon in January 2011, Gutslit recruited Aditya Barve as the new Front Man of Gutslit.
The current line up is Aditya Barve ”“ Vocals, Dynell Bangera ”“ Guitars, Abhishek Nandi ”“ Drums and Gurdip Singh Narang ”“ Bass.
