Blink 182’s latest song is short and sharp, a mix of pummeling guitars and anthemic shouting. “No Future” is from the band’s upcoming albumCalifornia, their first album since 2011. Also the first with Tom Delonge replacement, Matt Skiba.

Delonge stepped away from the group earlier in 2016, citing “artistic differences that are difficult to overcome” as one of the reasons for his exit. “We are at different places in our minds, careers and goals,” he added in a Facebook post.

In an interview with Rolling Stone in April, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus suggested that some tracks on the group’s new album would explore uncharted territory. “It goes in a lot of different directions,” he said. “We have some songs that sound like Blink-182 from 1999. … We have some songs that are like nothing we have ever done before. We have a ballad called ‘Home Is Such a Lonely Place’ that has clean arpeggiated finger-picking guitars with strings underneath it. We have super-fast late-Nineties-punk-rock-sounding songs … We tried to capture the energy and not worry so much about all the knobs.”

California hits shelves July 1st.
