After much speculation, it can now be confirmed that American pop diva Lady Gaga will be performing in India this October. The diva will take stage at the after party of the 2011 Indian Grand Prix, on October 30 that will be hosted at actor Arjun Rampal’s posh New Delhi club, Lap.

The actor announced the news to IANS on Thursday night. “Lady Gaga has one million Twitter fans and over 40 million Facebook fans. It’s a great feeling to get an icon like her to perform at your club at your lounge.” He also announced on Twitter, that Lap will he hosting all parties for the crew and participants of the race. “Lap will be hosting all the F1 parties happening at the Buddh Circuit in Greater Noida. It’s time to do our lap,” he wrote.

This news comes in after Lady Gaga initially confirmed via various interviews and TV show appearances that she was looking forward to visiting India in October and her management was working out details of a possible gig. This big-ticket announcement will have organisers and viewers alike waiting anxiously for the D-day.

Not just this, as previously reported, Metallica will be playing on day one of the three-day racing event that commences on October 28. The band will headline F1 Rocks, a series of live and televised concerts staged alongside the races. Organisers claim to have already made sales marking a 30,000 plus attendance at the open-air Leisure valley, situated two hours away from the race track in Noida.

Lady Gaga will play to a select few at Lap, where DJS Roger Sanchexon, Edward Maya and Tom Nevy will play on previous days. The club event will only be open for those attending all three days of the F1 race.
