Lana Del Rey Covers ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ In Sydney
Singer offers delicate take on 1993 Nirvana hit

Playing in Sydney, Australia on Saturday night, Lana Del Rey took on Nirvana’s ”Heart-Shaped Box,” offering a delicate cover of the cathartic track. Though Kurt Cobain sang the original as a tortured love song, Del Rey takes a more indirect route. Singing over swooning strings and wandering back and forth behind a bushy hedge on stage, Del Rey graced the verses with an airy delivery before daintily belting the mighty chorus without Cobain’s guttural growl.
Earlier this week, Boy George released a video for his cover of Del Rey’s “Video Games.”
