After speaking to Rolling Stone India about plans for an upcoming EP, Curtain Blue, Delhi-based vocalist Abhishek Bhatia, has finally released Drones, the promised four-track debut. Bhatia, who also fronts experimental rock band The Circus, says that the EP took over a year to fall into place and adds, “These songs are some ideas that I already had way back, and some which I incorporated after a very considerably long period of time. Every track is very different from each other.”

Although very vocal-oriented, the 26-year-old musician specifies that the genre of the EP isn’t really cookie-cutter electronica. He says, “It’s not dance music, it’s very personal because I play strings and the guitar at home, so I just kind of convert that into electronica.”

Following the EP launch gig in Delhi, which hosted a number of musicians jamming with Bhatia, including The Circus, Fuzz Culture, Frame/Frame, Parikrama, Tank Bund and Superfuzz, we now bring you an exclusive 24-hour stream of Curtain Blue’s debut EP Drones, a blend of upbeat vocals, staccato percussion and intricately layered soundscapes. Listen to all four tracks here.
