Mad Orange Fireworks Play Harley Rock Riders Pre-Party

The Bengaluru band will play their brand of ‘orange rock’ at B-flat today

At first, Mad Orange Fireworks sound like the kind of band to have a boom during this festive season, but there’s a reason behind the Bengaluru alternative rock band’s name.

“Orange is the color that the band’s music relates to,” says vocalist and guitarist Michael Dias. The band, which incorporates elements of jazz, funk, rock and pop, will be playing a 90-minute set to their home crowd at B-flat in Bengaluru as part of the Budweiser Harley Rock Riders pre-festival party.

The fact that Mad Orange Fireworks have 17 originals within a year of forming is interesting. Dias confirms that they will play 12-13 of those songs at their show, including tracks such as “Blackhole Reinterpreted,” “Empty Saturday,” and “Funny Feeling.” The band will also add an “orange twist” to songs such as The Police’s “Roxanne” and other cover songs by The Beatles, who have been a clear influence on Mad Orange Fireworks’ music. “We do it [cover The Beatles] differently. We had done a Beatles tribute a while ago, so we have a bunch of songs we could just pick up and perform at the gig,” Dias says.

Staying true to any Indian indie band’s career graph, Mad Orange Fireworks are working on their album, which Dias says will be out next year.

Mad Orange Fireworks play at the Budweiser Harley Rock Riders Pre-festival Party at B-flat, Bengaluru on November 9th. Entry: Free. Event details here
