Madonna Nabs Kanye, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj for ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’ Video

Diplo, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Chris Rock all drop by singer’s epic penthouse party

Jun 19, 2015

The age of blockbuster all-star music videos are upon us. One month after Taylor Swift dropped her A-list “Bad Blood” video that boasted more stars than the Avengers, Madonna has assembled her own Ocean’s 11 for “Bitch I’m Madonna.” The latest video off Madonna’s Rebel Heart premiered exclusively (albeit with technical difficulties) on the streaming service Tidal for 24 hours ”“ Madonna was among the marquee acts to sign the Tidal declaration ”“ before “Bitch I’m Madonna” made its way to Vevo.
Many of Madonna’s Tidal co-signees ”“ Beyoncé, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj ”“ make cameos (with Minaj contributing a verse), while “Bitch I’m Madonna” producer Diplo and singers Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rita Ora also drop by Madonna’s blowout party. The video features the singer cavorting around a penthouse, making out with strangers, stealing Diplo’s women and, at one point, participating in a sock puppet rave. Chris Rock, designers Alexander Wang and Madonna’s sons David and Rocco round out the unexpected “Bitch I’m Madonna” appearances.

Music video director and longtime Madonna collaborator Jonas Akerlund ”“ he previously helmed her “Ray of Light,” “Music” and “Ghosttown,” among others ”“ reteamed with the singer for “Bitch I’m Madonna.” “It’s always a challenge. Madonna is a celebrity enough for any music video,” Akerlund told Entertainment Weekly of the “Bitch I’m Madonna” shoot. “But with the nature of the song and the playfulness of it, we thought, ”˜Let’s have some friends and family and go crazy with it!’ Everyone was spread out and their time is tight, but the good news is we all love Madonna and everyone wants to be involved. That made it really fun and playful.”
