New Delhi based musician Prabh Deep takes on mainstream Punjabi rapper vibes in his new track “Sauce.” Produced by New Delhi native and Prabh Deep’s frequent collaborator Sez On The Beat, “Sauce” dropped on December 13th via Indian streaming platform JioSaavn’s in-house label Artist Originals (AO).

According to Prabh Deep, “Sauce” represents his journey from underground MC to mainstream rapper. Sonically the track blends a base of uptempo, danceable beats with trap to dig into a more radio-friendly offering–very different from the darker trap and bass blends on his ground-breaking 2017 debut LP Class-Sikh. “This is a completely different vibe to what we did with Class-Sikh and came about with us riffing on what commercial Punjabi rappers do,” explains Sez On The Beat. “It ended up sounding really great so we’re here to snatch their crown too!”

“Sauce” does manage to maintain some of Prabh Deep’s signature darkness courtesy the slightly eerie flute-like synth running through it and with vocals from the rapper’s childhood friend and singer Lit Happu. “’Sauce’ marks the beginning of a new phase in my artistic direction, and is the first single I’ve done with Lit Happu,” says Prabh Deep. “I wanted to celebrate the success I’ve had with Class-Sikh with other artists in my area and who better to start with than my boys Sez On The Beat and Lit Happu.”
