Rolling Stone India Partners with Twitter for New Music Series, #RollingWith

The fortnightly ‘music-and-conversation’ video sessions featuring artists will be broadcast live from the Twitter Blue Room; first edition to host The Vamps on August 29th

Aug 26, 2016

In a bid to bring artists closer to their fans, Rolling Stone India has partnered with Twitter India in a first-of-its-kind music property, titled #RollingWith. As part of the initiative, every fortnight, Twitter India will host a music-and-conversation series featuring artists, which will be broadcast live from their ‘Blue Room’. Each episode, curated by Rolling Stone India, will comprise multiple video tweets wherein the artist will engage with fans, answering questions and accepting requests to perform music live.

The first edition of #RollingWith will feature British pop-rock band The Vamps on August 29th at 10am. The Vamps, who are currently on a tour of India (they performed at Hard Rock Cafe, Andheri on Thursday), will perform their original songs as well as interact with a few lucky winners who will get to meet them at Blue Room.

Says Radhakrishnan Nair, Editor & Publisher, Rolling Stone India, “We are committed to the cause of supporting artists as well as providing them with a platform to interact with their fans directly. Rolling Stone India is happy to join hands with Twitter India for #RollingWith, which is a unique and exciting project in today’s social media-driven industry. We hope #RollingWith will go a long way in building and fostering an interactive community of musicians and fans.”

The next edition of #RollingWith will feature the hip-hop artists who are on the cover of the current issue of Rolling Stone India – rappers Naezy, Divine, Ace from Mumbai’s Finest, Stony Psyko and Bob Omulo. Other acts who will be part of #RollingWith in the subsequent editions are Mumbai-based producer Sandunes and Sahil Makhija aka The Demonstealer of extreme metallers Demonic Resurrection, among many others.

Adds Pratiksha Rao, Head – Media Partnerships, South East Asia, Twitter, “Twitter is your live connection to culture, and fans flock to Twitter to share and connect with their favorite artists and other fans. We are thrilled to bring new experiences for music fans exclusively on Twitter with #RollingWith in partnership with Rolling Stone India. Through this initiative, we will be hosting curated performances from Indian indie artists and visiting global acts both on Twitter and live, and will also give fans an opportunity to engage with their favorite musicians in new and unique ways. #RollingWith will feature both known and emerging artists to support the growing local music industry.”
