Sandunes Kicks Off US Tour

The electronica producer returns to America to play gigs across six cities, including a supporting slot alongside American electronica-nu jazz act Pretty Lights

It isn’t common for Indian alternative artists to go on a tour of the US twice in less than six months. But Sanaya Ardeshir a.k.a Sandunes is probably proving that the feat is quite achievable. After her February visit to America, the electronica producer, who plays an eclectic mix of EDM, post garage and jazz, is returning to the country for a month-long tour as part of which she will perform at clubs in NYC (Brooklyn and Manhattan) and Colorado (Telluride). In the latter town, she will play a supporting set alongside electronica/nu jazz/glitch giant Pretty Lights Analog Future Band.

Sandunes’ tour might also include a stopover at New Orleans and the West Coast.

Says Ardeshir, “I am really looking forward to play in Telluride; I have been inspired by the music of Pretty Lights Analog Future Band.”

Although the news of the tour just came out, Ardeshir says that it had been in the pipeline for a while. “I wanted to get my visa first and the announce it. That’s why I’d been tight-lipped about it for the past few weeks.” Besides the six confirmed venues, she says that the tour might also include a stopover at New Orleans and the West Coast. Ask Ardeshir if her set will remain standard at all the venues and she says, “Well, since it’s a live set, it’s never the same, but yes, all the sets will have the same musical approach.”
