Social Announce New Gig Series #LiveAndLocal
The first edition takes place this weekend featuring Mumbai groove masters Smalltalk
Popular music venue, co-working space, café and bar Social recently announced the start of a brand new monthly gig series called #LiveAndLocal which kicks off on October 21st, featuring Mumbai neo-soul band Smalltalk at Social’s city-based Versova outlet.
The gig series ”“ which will also be available for live streaming on Social’s Facebook page ”“ is aimed towards bringing back the energy experienced at Mumbai’s basement venue antiSOCIAL which hosted a number of memorable gigs up until late 2017 and also help artists reach listeners beyond their typical audiences.
Vivek Dudani, Programming Head (West), Social, explains, “As a brand, Social has always tried to be at the forefront of cultural programming and with this brand new IP, we’ve tried to do exactly that – utilize our various outlets and their signature designs to challenge contemporary, local (irrespective of genre) Indian musicians to adapt their signature sounds to a changing Social stage with each episode of #LiveAndLocal – so be it the terrace at Versova or the greenery of Koramangala, every episode will feature a new Social outlet as a stage.”
Smalltalk ”“ who released their breathtaking debut EP Tacit earlier this year ”“ are slated to perform fresh songs at the gig. Vocalist-guitarist Samarth Bahl says, “We are excited to present new, never-before heard material and a window into the live experience at the first edition of #LiveAndLocal.”
