To celebrate a decade in action, wine and music festival SulaFest is opening up to emerging artists, kicking off a band contest. The SulaFest ‘Rise and Shine’ contest offers up-and-coming musicians the chance to join the lineup at the three-day event from February 3rd to February 5th at Sula Vineyards in Nashik. Known for featuring music across various genres, SulaFest’s contest is open to all artists, be it indie, rock, soft rock, folk, fusion, world, reggae, ska, live electronic & electronic acoustic.

To participate, all artists/bands must be above 18 years old and submit a live performance video of an original composition between 60 seconds and 180 seconds in length. For more details on the rules to qualify for participation, visit www.sulawines.com/riseandshine.

Registrations will close on January 20th, 2017. All video entries will then be shortlisted by SulaFest’s jury panel before being uploaded to Sula Vineyards’ Facebook page for online voting.

Two winning acts will be chosen based on a combination of the judges’ choice and online votes, and will get the chance to perform at SulaFest, sharing the stage with popular bands from across the world, ranging from UK, Italy, Israel, Ibiza, Argentina, India, Bosnia and more. Some of these include Grammy-nominated as well as world festival favourites such as hip-hop/reggae band Dubioza Kolektiv (Bosnia & Herzegovina), folk electronica ensemble Afro Celt Sound System (UK), dance/electronic artist Jan Blomqvist and band (Germany) as well as homegrown heroes such as Bengaluru folk-rock outfit The Raghu Dixit Project, New Delhi fusion folk pioneers Indian Ocean, Goa-based desi bass sensation Nucleya and more.

The winners of ‘Rise and Shine’ contest will also receive free studio time at Mumbai’s famed Cotton Press Studio which has seen sessions with some of the country’s biggest artists.
