It’s safe to say that Poland loves the Reggae Rajahs. The Delhi-based reggae trio, comprising Raghav Dang aka Diggy Dang, Zorawar Shukla aka General Zooz and Mohammed Abood aka DJ MoCity, returned to Poland as part of their Europe tour last month, which included playing at the Ostroda Reggae Festival in August and attending the OFF Festival in the southern city of Katowice.

And the Rajahs surely love Poland back, considering they’ve played with Polish reggae acts such as fusion band Masala, funk/dub band Dredsquad and soul/reggae artist Kasia Maleda. In June this year, Reggae Rajahs were part of the Polish Institute’s first anniversary celebrations, playing with hip hop/reggae artist Marika and dancehall acts such as Masak Rah, Ras Tooh and Junior Stress.

Dang mentions that the trio were back in Poland this month to collaborate with reggae/electronica and fusion bands in the studio as well as perform at small club shows and check out more Polish acts for a talent hunt organized and funded by the Polish Institute. Now out of Europe, Reggae Rajahs play at the opening party of the Dub Champions Festival in New York today, which features reggae notables such as Lee “Scratch” Perry.

Here’s a look at the band’s tour across Scotland [where they played at the weekly reggae gig series, Walk n Skank, in July], Belgium [where they played a four-city tour in August], Poland and Croatia [where they played at the Outlook Festival’s India stage, with acts such as Bay Beat Collective, BassFoundation and Dualist Inquiry, among others].
