Turn It Up To 11: Rohit Pereira of Exhumation, ViceVersa, Shaa’ir + Func

The scene's funniest metalhead is cranking it up with these tunes right now

Rohit Pereira aka P-Man has hosted two of the last three editions of the Rolling Stone Metal Awards.  He is currently the bass player for brutal death metal band Exhumation, electro pop duo Shaa’ir + Func and vocalist for dubstep act ViceVersa. That explains the eclectic tunes on his current playlist. We wouldn’t be surprised to find some of these songs playing at this year’s Metal Awards.

The Black Dahlia Murder – “Conspiring with the Damned”

Everything I want in a metal song, is all insanely done in this song. The whole Ritual album, like TBDM’s other ones, is a masterpiece and a musical genius. So good, makes me cry!

Sun:Monx – “Emoxygen”

This is my ‘calm-the-fuck-down’ song at the moment. I’d never heard of these guys before until Aditya Ashok aka OX7GEN [drummer with Shaa’ir + Func, The Colour Compound] passed their songs on, and I can’t thank him enough.

Deftones – “You’ve Seen The Butcher”

Deftones is to me what Pink Floyd is to engineering students. And this song gives me the chills for its beautiful lyrics, beautiful production and haunting vocals. There are days where this song goes on loop.

Everything Everything – “Cough Cough”

This world is filled with so much amazing music and this song and this band are part of that amazing music category. I love this song’s vocal melodies and the eccentric songwriting. Brilliant!

Awolnation – “Sail”

Beautiful, hair raising and it makes you think. Enough said.
