Created in 2008 as a solo djent project, Limit Zero is Bengaluru guitarist Shreyas Skandan’s brainchild. Their first full-length album, Gravestone Constellations, released last year, name-checked fellow djentleman Keshav Dhar of prog metal band Skyharbor [check out his current favorites here] and Siddharth Basrur, vocalist of post-hardcore band Goddess Gagged. In true lead guitarist style, Skandan’s favorites range from EDM to jazz to prog metal.

The Faceless ”“ “Deconsecrate”

I got into The Faceless a little later than everyone else, but damn, this new album totally won me over. I love every bit of it and it’s been on my playlist ever since it released. This band can do no wrong.

Hardwell ”“ “Apollo”

This may come as a shocker to some of you, but I do enjoy some EDM every now and then. I don’t listen to a lot of it, and I’m not very familiar with the genre, but I recently discovered Hardwell, and this song in particular and it hasn’t made it out of my playlist yet.

Pat Metheny ”“ “Orchestrion”

I love Pat Metheny, and I’ve been listening to a lot of his music recently. Right now, I’m spinning Orchestrion quite often. It’s such a brilliant concept and a beautiful album. I’ve got his older stuff as well, but this one has made its way to my current playlist somehow. I’d love to attend one of his orchestrion concerts someday.

Skinny Puppy ”“ “Vyrisus”

To be honest, I only discovered this band a few days ago. Vocalist of Dutch industrial metal band Toxic Grind Machine, Trevor Marks, recommended that I check them out and I’m hooked. I got my hands on HanDover and all I can say is that I should’ve discovered this band earlier. I need to check out more from this band, but for now, I’m going to enjoy this album.

TesseracT ”“ “Singularity”

You’re always going to find TesseracT in my playlist. I can’t live without this band. I can only describe their music as an “escape” of sorts. I can’t wait for their new album. It’s definitely going to be one of the best releases of this year.

Uneven Structure ”“ “Frost/Hail”

Another band that you’ll probably always find in my playlist is Uneven Structure. I love Februus. Uneven Structure helped us release our EP back in 2008 and they’re the coolest bunch of dudes we know. I can’t wait to hear more from this band. It’s time they released another album!
