Watch Blink-182’s Celebratory, Youthful ‘Bored to Death’ Video

Band reminisces about the monotony of school days and all the post-final period fun in ‘California’ clip

Jun 21, 2016

The refurbished Blink-182 reminisce about the monotony of school ”“ and how much fun kids have once the day’s final bell rings ”“ in their new video for “Bored to Death,” the first single off the band’s upcoming LP California.

In the video, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and new member Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio rock out in a sweaty club while a bored student uses a pair of safety scissors to scratch into his desk. While defacing school property, the kid daydreams about his life on the outside: Trips to the record store, aimless driving, unsupervised use of a neighbor’s pool and Blink-182 concerts.

Blink-182, with Skiba filling in for UFO-obsessed guitarist Tom DeLonge, release their California on July 1st. The album also boasts anthemic new single “Rabbit Hole” and the 14-second “Built This Pool,” which the band previously premiered on a 10-hour loop. Blink-182’s long tour in support of their new album, the trio’s first since 2011’s Neighborhoods, kicks off July 22nd in San Diego, California.
