Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Sarthak Swami has released his debut solo single, the smooth acoustic track “Love Again,” inspired by his own life experiences. Swami has been around the Mumbai independent music scene for a few years now: he was previously part of acoustic duo The Loyalists and blues/rock band Stones From The Sun, and he currently fronts alt rock band The Rapid. “Everyone has fallen in love at some point. It’s a song for everyone as love is the most relatable emotion,” says Swami.

On “Love Again,” the singer-songwriter consciously opts for a more straight-up, easygoing sound, resulting in a relaxed listen that isn’t complex or confusing. “I wanted to find a melody with the simplest chords,” says Swami.

The music video for “Love Again,” which was  shot on Swami’s brother’s balcony by Mumbai videographer Sanket Ray, is a nod to the singer-songwriter’s beginnings.  He says, “I’ve spent hours upon hours practicing and composing music there. So I felt it would be the most fitting place to shoot my first video.”

The song was recorded at a home studio belonging to Mumbai-based producer Agni Ruhela, who also produced and mixed the track. “Agni spent numerous hours on the song editing every detail,” says Swami.

The vocalist/guitarist’s sole focus now is to play live as much as possible, but he’s happy to take his time in releasing new music. Swami feels that if he doesn’t believe in his own songs, it would be an injustice to put them out. “As time progresses I will release new material,” he assures.
