With American hip-hop artist 50 Cent aka Curtis Jackson III making his way down to India later this week, his Mumbai stop at D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai is arguably the biggest international hip-hop concert in India this year.

Coming in from selling hundreds of thousands of tickets in the American and Europe leg of his tour, 50 Cent stops by India for the first time since he made his debut in 2007. The rapper is then heading onward to Kazakhstan, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates until the end of 2023.

Ahead of his India show, we take stock of what’s in store at D.Y. Patil Stadium on November 25th, when the artist behind hits like “Candy Shop” and “21 Questions” comes by to Mumbai. Get tickets for the show on Paytm Insider.

The Comeback

The last time 50 Cent was in India, he made his debut performance in the country in Mumbai in 2007, just two months after the release of his third album Curtis which featured songs like “Ayo Technology.” Now, almost 16 years to the date – 50 Cent’s last Mumbai concert was on November 18th, 2007 – the rapper is set to return after his artistry has had  sizeable impact on India’s own hip-hop scene.

The Tour Production

While his recent U.K. shows caught heavy publicity due to a surprise appearance from pop singer-songwriter (and occasional rapper) Ed Sheeran, plus audience members like a senior citizen, 50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour take things up a notch when it comes to stadium production. Expect a grand entrance, plenty of pyrotechnics/fireworks and huge LED panels that will likely make for an immersive experience. On stage, Fiddy is likely to be joined by hype men, dancers, a live band and more.

The Full Lineup

While everyone’s hyped for 50 Cent, we can’t ignore the fact that Mumbai rap star DIVINE is going to turn up with a stadium show as part of the Final Lap Tour. The “Baazigar” artist has reliably filled up big venues when it comes to his performances. This time, he performs on home ground after a considerable gap of a few months, just when news of his collaboration with Punjabi star Karan Aujla is also causing chatter. “23 is odd and it’s not over,” DIVINE said on Instagram, hinting that he may just have another song out before the end of the year.

The lineup also includes firepower artists like New Delhi-bred Prabh Deep, Tamil-Canadian artist SVDP fka Shan Vincent de Paul who will be joined by beatsmith Yanchan and Singapore artist Yung Raja.

The Setlist

On the Final Lap Tour so far, 50 Cent has been diving into everything from “Ayo Technology” to “Hate It Or Love It,” “Disco Inferno” and of course, the unmissable “In Da Club,” “Candy Shop,” and “P.I.M.P.” as part of a 90-minute set.

A Farewell?

While the name Final Lap Tour has come to mean that this might be 50 Cent’s last hurrah, the rapper himself clarified why he chose the name. He said in a video announcement, “I won’t be running around like this no more. I gotta do film and TV stuff – I got a lot of other things going on behind the scenes that I got to work on, so I won’t be out touring as much as I’ve been.” That said, this might be our last chance to see him live in India.
