Satchit – the garden

London-based Indo-British artist Satchit dips his toes into R&B, electronic soundscapes and elements of Indian music on his latest six-track EP the garden. The self-produced effort includes synth bass offerings (“Rosy” and “Sunday”), the piano-led “See You” and alternative tracks (“New Peace” and “Tulips”). Satchit’s vocal melodies stand out across the record as he draws influence from his South Asian roots.

Andrea Tariang and Aman Sagar – “Circle Game”

Shillong singer Andrea Tariang and guitarist-producer and vocalist Aman Sagar join forces for a rousing electro-pop and cinematic track titled “Circle Game.” The song includes lush guitar flourishes while Tariang and Sagar both contribute with their impactful vocals. In a statement, the artist said, “’Circle Game’ is about the redundant cycle of a volatile relationship between two people, where neither of them have the power or inclination to break the cycle. It’s about being young, reckless and naive and being aware of it all, and not doing much to change things.”

Mani_ac – “Snakeyard”

Bhopal-based multi-instrumentalist, composer-producer and vocalist Rajamani Ayyer aka Mani_ac recently dropped his fiery new single “Snakeyard.” The heavy metal offering features Ayyer’s gritty guitar playing, high octane drums, scintillating solos as well as angsty vocals and growls. In a statement, Ayyer said, “This song is themed around a person who is in an extremely toxic friend circle.” He adds, “In order to live his life, he has to get out of it, but he is unable to do so. The entire song revolves around this situation.”

Ali Saffudin – Dal Sessions

On his latest three-track EP Dal Sessions – out via Azadi Records – Srinagar-based singer-songwriter Ali Saffudin showcases beautiful lyricism sung in Koshur and poignant melodies on the delicate record. The musician touches upon complex issues such as existentialism, despair and maintaining the will to fight an oppressor through the songs.
