A.C.E Drop Celestial Music Video For ‘Higher’

The South Korean quintet give a peek into their upcoming fifth mini-album, ‘SIREN: DAWN’ with a pre-released music video

Jun 22, 2021

Following the intricacies of Greek mythology, K-pop boy group A.C.E are back with a riveting storyline in “Higher.” Serving as a pre-released single off the group’s fifth mini-album, SIREN: DAWN, the track draws its inspiration from the moon and celestial bodies.

With choreography by the members–Jun, Donghun, Wow, Kim Byeongkwan, and Chan–“Higher” blends future bass and progressive house to narrate a dramatic tale of perseverance and unwavering determination during one’s darkest times.

Inspired by celestial skies with the moon as the focal object, the music video opens with the group resting on the ground, looking up at the gleaming orb. The moon, which appears in its full glory, seems to represent completion and the realization of your true desires and power– almost like a commentary on one’s journey in life. Right before the chorus kicks in, we see the opposing forces of the sun and the moon eclipse, symbolizing unity and cooperation to help one achieve their desires.

A.C.E maintain a suave demeanor throughout the music video, with a large chunk of the choreography executed on sets that resemble the surface of the moon. With the final chorus showcasing the group’s rich vocal variation, the music video wraps with the members performing the outro amidst a lush green landscape.

SIREN: DAWN is set to drop on June 23rd and comprises five songs, including “Higher.” The rest of the tracks are “INTRO : Miserere Mei Deus (We Fall Down),” “Atlantis,” “Chasing Love” and “Story”–which features members Donghun and Chan as composers and lyricists while “Atlantis” was written and composed by boy group Pentagon’s Kino.
