Kolkata/Mumbai singer-songwriter and guitarist Aaryan Banthia creates an evocative, dramatic atmosphere for his new single “Tere Bin,” which is elevated by a music video that plays out a tragic story.

The swaying, starry rock track borrows a bit from blues and places it into pop-rock ballad territory, delving into yearning for an unforgettable love. Banthia said in a statement, “This song is for everyone who has been through heartbreak or was reunited with their love after a long period of separation. I truly believe that my fans will hold more rights to this track than I because each one of them listening to the song will be able to connect with it instantly.” For the track, Banthia calls on British drummer Chris Barber, New York-based bassist Chris Bonner and Manchester keyboardist James Holt. Barber had previously appeared on the singer-songwriter’s earlier single “Best Day of My Life.”

The music video, directed by Ananya Chatterjee, shows Banthia performing the track in a subdued setting, alongside a story of a blooming relationship between characters played by Bengali actors Sauraseni Mitra and Aryan Roy. Through their journey of ups and downs, Roy’s character completes a book but loses his partner to a car accident.

The release follows previous singles such as “Yaadein” in 2019 (his debut release) and “Paar,” which has racked up over two million views on YouTube. “Tere Bin,” offered as a rock ballad of sorts, is Banthia’s third song out this year, including “Shades of Spring” and “Best Day of My Life.”
