Adam Sandler Returns to His Happy Place in New ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Teaser

The long-awaited sequel is set to hit Netflix in July

Adam Sandler makes his grand return to the green in the latest teaser for Happy Gilmore 2, set to arrive July 25 on Netflix

The clip for the highly-anticipated sequel opens with Sandler’s Happy gazing upon the busts of some of golf’s greats — Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods, before getting to his own less-than-flattering statue and quipping: “SpongeBob? What is that? What’s with the beaver teeth?”

The rest of the trailer goes on to tease a story about Happy donning his Boston Bruins jersey and picking up his clubs for one last go at golf glory, only to find everyone hits with power nowadays. The clip features Julie Bowen returning as Virginia Venit, a scene of Christopher McDonald’s Shooter McGavin screaming in anger in the rain, and Bad Bunny — playing Happy’s caddie — smashing a golf club over his leg. Ben Stiller even makes a brief cameo as the evil nursing home orderly, Hal.

Along with all those aforementioned folks, the Happy Gilmore 2 cast is set to feature Travis Kelce, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Blake Clark, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Sandler’s two daughters, Sadie and Sunny, will also appear in the film, as will a handful of former and current professional golfers, including Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and John Daly.

And this being a late-period Sandler film, one can expect an array of cameos, too. Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, and golf instructor/model Paige Spiranic are set to appear, and Sandler has confirmed that Eminem shot a “funny as hell” scene for the movie.

“I’ve known Eminem for a long time, he’s a great guy and he came in and was funny as hell,” Sandler said on The Dan Patrick Show last year. “I think we just hung out a day with Eminem and he just shot and shot and he was insane. He said a million things we can use and a million that we’re glad we have him on tape.”
