Adam & The Fish Eyed Poets Put On Their Best Face For ‘Rise-Upping’

The Chennai post-proto pop rockers piece together album artwork from ‘Songs From An Island’ to win the internets

Feb 11, 2013

In September last year, when Adam and the Fish Eyed Poets released their third album Songs From An Island, the first song that kicked things off was the happy rock track “Rise-Upping.” If you flicked through the album inlay of the 11-track concept album about a dysfunctional marriage, you’ll be able to place how the monochrome photographs which picturize the story have now come to life in the music video, although with a different storyline.

The video follows the protagonist, a software engineer named Ravi, as he looks into his alternate future, one in which rage face-wearing [internet memes ftw!] characters cast him out for having a ”˜normal face’. Frontman Kishore Krishna takes on the important role of an office boy who spikes the protagonist’s coffee. The vision Ravi teaches him an important lesson in conformity.
