Advaita is an eight member fusion band from New Delhi. Formed in 2004, the band brings together Indian classical sensibilities with orthodox rock arrangements. They released their debut album Grounded In Space in March 2009 with EMI Records. Recorded at the famed Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai, the album spent 4 weeks at number one on the International charts at the Music World stores for all of Delhi.
The band has also recorded two tracks for the India Soundpad compilation which was produced by top British producer John Leckie and released under Counter Culture Records.
Their music is the combination the Sarangi, Tabla, Bass, Keyboards, Guitars and Drums that dissolve into each other. Their brand of contemporary ”˜organic’ fusion has been lauded as one of the most original sounds to come out of the Indian underground music scene.
