Agam is a contemporary Carnatic rock band from Bangalore. It is composed of seven members – Harish on vocals and violin, Swamy on keyboards, Praveen on guitars, Suraj on guitars, Vignesh on bass, Ganesh on drums and Shiva on percussion.
Before the formation of the band, through the songs and the innumerable jamming sessions that the trio had their music taking a much more distinct style. Agam was hence formed. The English ”“ Hindi ”“ Tamil composition “Hope “in support of the Can Conquer Cancer initiative won the third place in the international blogging competition in support of the Cancer victims. Agam released the song Lakshiya Paadhai in the blogosphere as a dedication to the non profitable organization, “The Rakum School of Blind” and helped them raise funds.
After this, Saregama’s Oohlalala (Band Hunt Talent Show) was launched. With AR Rahman’s as a support, Agam were the winners of Oohlalala 2007.
Agam also features and collaborates musicians like Shyam, Padmaja, Kashyap, Krishna, Narendra to name a few.
