When Agnee played at Blue Frog Pune last year, they created quite the stir. Almost 2400 fans landed at the venue, causing not only a dense traffic jam outside but also a rush among ticket-holders to jostle into the venue. So when the venue invited the folk rockers to play another show this year, they made sure they made space first. At their gig tomorrow, October 22nd, presented in partnership with Rolling Stone India, Agnee will be taking the stage at the Ishanya Amphitheatre, an outdoor venue in the Blue Frog premises reserved for large-scale gigs, which can accommodate a crowd of 3,000.

Agnee, on their part, couldn’t be ecstatic to be back. “We’re premiering a couple of new songs tomorrow,” says lead guitarist Kaustubh Dhavale, popularly known as Koco. The setlist will be a mixed bag featuring both old and new material. “The crowd will murder us if we don’t play our older stuff; I think that’s what they called us for,” he says.

The band are currently working on their album which they plan to release early next year to mark their tenth anniversary. So far, Agnee have released two records ”“ the 2007 eponymous album and 2012’s soundtrack to the film Aalap.  Right now, the band have a rich bank of 25 song which they want to scale down to 10 for their upcoming album. “We may also involve our listeners to choose between the songs that should be on the album,” says Koco.

Agnee has been involved with a few commercial projects in the last couple of years which the band laments haven’t released so far. “We’ve done them, mixed and mastered, and it’s sitting in our computer,” says Koco, adding that the band has now decided to take more control over their commercial projects. For now the guitarist is excited that he is getting to perform in his hometown tomorrow. The otherwise social media shy musician is even considering sharing the event poster of his Facebook profile. “We’re looking forward to feel the love from the friends of Agnee tomorrow.”
