Flex x Cop—a chaotic crime-rom-com K-drama—due for release on January 26, 2024—stars Ahn Bo-hyun as a third-generation Chaebol, also a sharp sleuth, eliminating crooks in a manner of his own.

Per sources, the SBS drama is their big fresh venture set to air in the new year following and filling in the Friday and Saturday timeslots currently held by the ongoing Song Kang-Kim Yoo-Jung smash My Demon.

Ahn Bo-hyun’s dynamic stills, where he accentuates his personality while using his striking looks and tall stature to call viewers in on him, have become the aspect of the story piquing most interest as of now.

Ahn plays Jin Yi-soo in Flex x Cop. Yi-soo is a handsome and well-off third-generation Chaebol guy who’s content to live a leisurely life until something unforeseen strikes and flips the script, turning events around fascinatingly.

Following what happened, Yi-soo joins the police and starts as a criminal investigator in the violent crime unit, collaborating with the team’s leader, Lee Gang-hyun (Park Ji-hyun). Yi-soo is an impressionable fun person by nature; he is also super rich and too smart to be messed around. Thus, punishing offenders proves to be relatively easy for him while he makes the best use of his resources, authority, status, and expertise.

However, Gang-hyun, his reporting authority, is utterly passionate about her work and goes beyond the call of duty in pursuit of perpetrators. She might even put her life in jeopardy when undertaking investigations and seizing criminals. Seasoned in the division’s violent crime unit, Gang-hyun has a reputation for her strategic thinking and poised interpersonal abilities. She also happens to be the very first female squad leader in the department.

Gang-hyun is not quite thrilled with Yi-soo’s inclusion in her team. She has misgivings about him in general and sees him as an unwelcome addition to her routine. Meanwhile, an abrupt shift in the way they interact happens for a reason, leading to the two becoming partners, or perhaps even romantic partners.

Building up characters is one of Ahn Bo-hyun’s strong suits; he thrives on bringing situations to life and conveying emotions. As the Korean media appropriately points out, it should be fun watching the actor employ his genius and inventiveness—dubbed the “flex investigation technique”—to solve crimes and find the guilty parties in Flex x Cop. It’s anticipated that the portrayal of him juggling two opposing ways of life would add variety to the act.

Written by Kim Ba-da and directed by Kim Jae-hong, Flex x Cop also features Kang Sang-jun and Kim Shin-bi in major roles.
