Ahn Hyo-seop is in talks for the lead role in the upcoming romantic-comedy drama Sold Out Again Today Too. His agency, The Present Company, confirmed that he has received the offer and is currently reviewing it, according to media reports.
Ahn Hyo-seop is best known for his roles in K-dramas such as Still 17 (2018), Abyss (2019), Dr. Romantic 2 (2020), Lovers of the Red Sky (2021), Business Proposal (2022), Dr. Romantic 3 (2023), and A Time Called You (2023). Romance has been a central theme in all these dramas, solidifying his image as a romantic lead—a role he may take on once again in director Ahn Jong-yeon’s upcoming drama Sold Out Again Today Too.
The new series revolves around a chance encounter that sparks initial tension before unfolding into a deeper romance. The story follows Mathew Lee and Dam Ye-jin, two individuals from vastly different backgrounds, bound by sorrow and a shared sense of emptiness.
Ahn has been offered the role of Mathew, a reserved and reclusive agrarian man with a complex personality. Meanwhile, Ye-jin is a home shopping show presenter battling a health condition. Despite their differences, both characters are hardworking and dedicated to their professions. As their paths intertwine, they begin to heal from past traumas and develop a profound connection.
Sold Out Again Today Too marks Ahn Hyo-seop’s return to television following A Time Called You, the Korean adaptation of the Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day, which explored love through the intricacies of time travel.
In addition to his drama career, Ahn is set to make his big-screen debut in The Prophet: Omniscient Reader, directed by Kim Byung-woo. The film, based on the popular webtoon Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, follows Kim Dok-ja (played by Ahn), an avid reader of the web novel Three Ways to Survive an Apocalypse. When the fictional story’s apocalyptic world suddenly becomes reality, Dok-ja finds himself at the center of unfolding events. He crosses paths with Yoo Joong-hyuk (played by Lee Min-ho), a powerful protagonist from the novel. Initially skeptical of Dok-ja’s knowledge, Joong-hyuk gradually teams up with him to prevent the impending catastrophe.
