Alcest, Overkill, Immolation and More Set For Bangalore Open Air 2018

The seventh edition of the metal festival also includes Dubai metallers Nervecell and Bengaluru metallers Kryptos and Eccentric Pendulum

Bangalore Open Air (BOA) is scaling up for their seventh edition on July 7th, featuring the India debut of four international acts. The annual metal gathering features a headline set by American thrash metal band Overkill, New York death metallers Immolation and French post-metal band Alcest.

The lineup is completed by Dubai metal band Nervecell ”“ making a long overdue stop in India promoting their 2017 album Past, Present”¦ Torture ”“ local metal heroes Kryptos (who are coming back for their second consecutive BOA appearance, this time celebrating 20 years) and prog/death metallers Eccentric Pendulum.

Held at a new venue, Aadya Farms in Yelahanka, BOA’s big draw remains the international artists this time around as well. Immolation’s are in India on the back of their critically-acclaimed 2017 album Atonement, the 10th record from the American death metal band who have been around since 1988. Overkill, as well, add to the veteran quotient of the festival, known to be part of the thrash metal explosion in the U.S. through the Eighties.

A strong draw unto themselves, Alcest have been plotting to perform in India for long, with a tour that was originally set for 2013. Bangalore Open Air marks their India debut as well, adding a trippy, atmospheric hue to the otherwise heavy and brutal billing of bands.

Bangalore Open Air takes place on July 7th, 2018 at Aadya Farms, Bengaluru. Tickets: Rs 3,000. Buy here. Event details here.
