The singer-composer performs on March 25th at the festival, which also includes artists like Nikhita Gandhi on the lineup
Bollywood singer-composer Amaal Mallik takes to the stage as headliner at Dunk Fest 2.0 in Mumbai on March 25th. The event is part of Holi celebrations and also features pop artist Nikhita Gandhi and DJs Ganesh, Amann Nagpal and Aerreo.
Mallik – whose recent work included songs for the documentary on child actors called First Act – is best known for chart-topping hits including “Sooraj Dooba Hai,” “Kar Gayi Chull,” “Sau Aasmaan Ko,” and
“Aashiq Surrender Hua.”
The artist said in a statement, “Obviously, from my performance, a lot is going to be conveyed because people feel that I am this romantic music composer, which I am, I’m proud to be that. But you know, being someone who can do both, dance music and romantic music is something that people don’t know that I can perform as well.”
At Dunk Fest 2.0, which takes place at the JVPD Grounds in Juhu, Mallik says it’s likely to be a crowd-pleaser of a set. He adds, “Holi is a festival of color and joy. I feel my songs are such that the audience loves to groove on. May it be ‘Sooraj Dooba Hai’ or ‘Sau Aasman Ko,’ the audience always has felt emotions of joy and soulfulness.”
The artist says through his performance, he hopes to “infuse” the same amount of energy that floats around during Holi celebrations. Mallik adds, “To see any surprises, make sure you come to see the show and enjoy it live.”
Dunk Fest 2.0 is organized by entrepreneur Sudipan Das from the company Eminent Entertainment, along with hospitality company Aspect Hospitality’s managing director Hitesh Keswani. General access passes are currently priced at ₹999.
