The industrial metal band announced that they will make their India debut with shows in Pune and Delhi in November
A day ahead of the official lineup announcement for the fifth edition of Bacardi NH7 Weekender festivals, American industrial metal band Fear Factory announced on their Facebook page that they will make their India debut at the festival series. Fear Factory performs in Pune on November 22nd and in Delhi NCR on November 29th.
Fear Factory, best known for their 1998 concept album Obsolete, has had an erratic tour schedule since 1990, with the only constant member being vocalist Burton C. Bell. Guitarist Dino Cazares, a co-founder of the band, left in 2002 only to rejoin in 2009, when the band roped in thrash metal veterans Testament’s drummer Gene Hoglan and released their comeback album Mechanize in 2010. The lineup tensions, however, continued and Hoglan was replaced by Mike Heller [from tech-death metal band Malignancy] in 2012.
Despite constant lineup changes and infighting, Fear Factory are best known for championing industrial metal as a genre, writing songs about themes ranging from science fiction to technology. The band is currently working on their ninth full-length album drawing from the same themes, due later this year.
In addition to Fear Factory, more artists performing at the NH7 Weekender across four cities ”“ Kolkata, Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi NCR ”“ will be announced online tomorrow, with tickets going on sale on August 22nd.
