Singer-composer Amit Trivedi matches steps with folk-fusion/pop artist Simran Choudhary in the music video for “Sunn Husna Di Pariye,” from Trivedi’s 2024 album Azaad Collab.
Trivedi has been steadily releasing music videos for songs off the aptly collab-heavy album and with Choudhary, “Sunn Husna Di Pariye” brings her Punjabi vocal style over club-friendly rhythms, seemingly informed by Latin pop, plus lyrics by Shellee.
Choudhary says about the collaboration in a statement, “You know that feeling when you’ve admired a composer for years, learned from their music, and suddenly, you find yourself in the studio with them? It was surreal! Amit Sir gave me creative freedom—like a blank canvas to paint my own picture.”
Trivedi, for his part, says about working with Choudhary, “I love collaborating with beautiful artists, and when I came across her profile through Instagram, I found out that she creates her own songs, writes, performs, dances, and I thought “woah! Who is this talent, please get her to collaborate with me.” She sings in Punjabi, Hindi, Rajasthani, English, it’s mind-blowing, she is so talented and I am glad to have her as a part of this album.”
Choudhary, known for breakout songs like “Aje Na Jaa” in 2024 and 2025’s “Rehle Mere Kol” with pop artist Aditya Rikhari, also sang “Aayi Nayi” for Bollywood horror-comedy Stree 2, marking her biggest hit in film music last year. She released her debut EP Folkin Rani in 2023, building a reputation for drawing from India’s folk songs and giving them modern pop renditions.
