In addition to their Sarod Trilogy run of worldwide shows, sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons — Ayaan Ali And Amaan Ali Bangash — return to the U.S. for two private shows as part of the second international HCL Concerts this week. Following a show by the father-sons trio in New York City on December 3rd, the sarod artists will perform a special set at the United Club, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, part of California’s Silicon Valley.

Brothers Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash released their new album Infinity with multi-instrumentalist Karsh Kale earlier this year — featuring the track “Journeyman,” a collaboration with their Grammy nominee father. The septuagenarian sarod maestro, for his part, hasn’t slowed down either, performing all over the globe, including a collaboration with guitarist Joe Walsh.

HCL Concerts, started in 1998, has made its way to global audiences following their first international edition in November 2018, featuring violin maestro Dr L. Subramaniam and vocalist Kavita Krishnamurti in New York. HCL Technologies CEO and president C Vijayakumar said in a statement, “We launched HCL Concerts in the US in 2018 with captivating performances at the iconic Carnegie Hall in NYC. Inspired by the rousing reception received by the inaugural Concert, this year, we are adding another chapter in Silicon Valley, to bring the rich heritage of Indian classical performing arts to our global customer base and the larger HCL family. As a genre, Indian classical music allows artists the freedom to innovate while keeping the fundamentals and frameworks intact. This spirit of innovation and reinvention has also driven HCL over the last 43 years to become a globally renowned technology firm.”

Additionally, HCL Concerts has also branched into looking at newer talent in fusion, Indian classical and pop music. The recently launched HCL Digital Concerts includes mentors such as Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, plus sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee, mentoring up-and-coming names in Indian music.
