The six-week program has previously featured artists including Easy Wanderlings, Anoushka Maskey, RANJ x Clifr and more
The upcoming seventh edition of artist development program Amplify Music Incubator is slated to run from June 11th to July 22nd and applications are open until May 25th.
The hybrid six-week program involves five weeks online followed by a week-long on-ground residency in Goa and then a artist showcase concert. A total of 15 spots are up for the taking for the seventh Amplify Music Incubator, which is developed by music agency Gatecrash and non-profit organization Music Mulakatein Foundation and supported by Canada’s Music Incubator initiative.
Among the parameters that the program follows to select artists include expecting “artists to show that they are serious about their projects.” To that end, this is seen by their previous releases, music videos and shows performed.
In the past, Amplify Music Incubator’s cohort has included artists like neo hip-hop group T.ill Apes, alternative act Easy Wanderlings, singer-producer duo RANJ x Clifr, singer-songwriter Anoushka Maskey, multi-instrumentalist-composer Shreyas Iyengar, Indo-American artist Sheherazaad, singer-producer Yuhina and more. Amplify Music Incubator explains in a press release that they have “imparted over 800 hours of professional development training via industry experts from India, Canada, U.K., and France” across six editions so far.
The initiative’s founder and Gatecrash’s Tanish Thakker says in a statement, “At AMI we love working with artists, who not only create great music but are also super passionate about what they are doing.” He adds, “We also like seeing artists who want to invest in learning and developing themselves but are also willing to contribute to the community that we are building.”
Amplify Music Incubator is in its fourth year now and has previously received support from the likes of music companies like Believe as well as education outlet Institut Francais.
