The official soundtrack for Back to Black, the forthcoming Amy Winehouse biopic, spans the late musician’s discography in addition to highlighting her prominent musical influences. Back to Black: Songs From the Original Motion Picture, out alongside the film on May 17, will feature 12 songs in its standard edition.

Three original recordings from Winehouse’s 2003 debut album Frank will appear on the soundtrack, including “What Is It About Men,” “Stronger Than Me,” and “Know You Now.” Another three come from her second and final studio album, Back to Black. The selections include the title track, “Love Is a Losing Game,” and “Tears Dry on Their Own.”

Slotted amongst Winehouse’s recordings are entries from Billie Holiday (“All of Me”), Minnie Riperton (“Les Fleurs”), Dinah Washington (“Mad About the Boy”), and Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown (“Embraceable You”). These artists, according to a press release, will have their music featured at “key moments” in the film.

Nick Cave, who was tapped to compose the score for the Sam Taylor-Johnson film alongside Warren Ellis, recorded an original song for the soundtrack. “Song for Amy” is the only new recording included on the album.

The deluxe edition of Back to Black: Songs From the Original Motion Picture adds 14 songs to the original track list. Winehouse’s “I Heard Love Is Blind,” “Fuck Me Pumps,” “(There Is) No Greater Love,” “Me & Mr. Jones,” “Rehab,” and a Live Lounge version of “Valerie” are all included on the extended version of the soundtrack.

Among the 14 additional entires are selections from Thelonious Monk, the Specials, Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Shangri-Las, Donny Hathaway, the Libertines, Tony Bennett, and Willie Nelson. The compilation record will be available digitally as well as in two-LP and two-CD formats.

Back to Black stars Marisa Abela as Winehouse. The actress performs a number of the musician’s recordings in the film, which was made with support from the Winehouse estate. The cast also stars Jack O’Connell as Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil; Lesley Manville as Winehouse’s grandmother, Cynthia; Eddie Marsan as her father, Mitch; and Juliet Cowan as her mother, Janis.
