Amy Winehouse Found Dead in London

According to TMZ, Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment earlier today. Thus far few details regarding the singer’s death have emerged, but a press release from the Metropolitan Police has announced that a woman matching her description ”“ a 27-year-old female ”“ was pronounced dead on the scene when ambulances were called in to Winehouse’s address.

Winehouse, who has struggled with alcoholism and drug abuse for the past several years, only recently came out of a brief rehab stint before heading out on a European tour. That jaunt was scrapped after the first date, a sloppy, incoherent performance at a Serbian festival.
