Singer's father will control $4.6 million estate
Documents released yesterday reveal that Amy Winehouse‘s parents will inherit her fortune, the Associated Press reports. The singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse, will be the administrator of her estate, which amounts to $4.66 million after debts and taxes. Winehouse did not leave a will, so the money will go to her parents in default. Her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, will not receive anything.
Winehouse was found dead in her London home on July 23rd of last year at the age of 27. The singer’s death was eventually ruled a “misadventure,” a British legal term for accidental death. The singer, who struggled with alcoholism for years, had the equivalent of 12 drinks in her system at the time of her death.
