The track is the second single off the Noida singer-songwriter’s forthcoming sophomore EP ‘Modern Art’

Soon after releasing his six-track debut Hindi EP Adhoore last year, Noida singer-songwriter Anchit Magee began working on its follow-up, the five-track record Modern Art. With the title track already out, Magee has also released a second single from the EP in the shape of the indie-rock track “This Is Our Life.”
According to the artist, the energetic and uplifting track “speaks to the desire to break free from society and forge a path of one’s own.” Magee adds, “The lyrics reflect that seize the day mentality and the realization that if this is the only life I have, I must make it my own.” Sonically, the track includes bright guitars, catchy melodies as well as groovy drums from Madhav Mehta and shimmery organ parts by Nigel Joe Harris. The song has been mixed and mastered by Adamya Bajaj.
The light-hearted music video accompanying “This Is Our Life” has been directed by Aditya Rahul and stars Chirag Chaturvedi, Tanya Gulati and Harshil Tewatia who are seen on screen fighting an alien invasion. “The shoot was a blast, with things going wrong regularly, as is expected. But we came together to make a video that we’re all incredibly proud of, and one that is very special,” says Magee.
The rest of Modern Art is set to release on June 15th. Talking about what listeners can expect from the other tracks on the record, the musician says, “The songs explore different facets of modern human relationships, ending up as a bittersweet reflection on the complexities of love in modern times.” Once this release cycle is over, Magee plans to release singles in both Hindi and English. He says, “There’s always something new and better on the horizon, that’s the excitement of working in music.”
