Aparshakti Khurana Roams London All Brokenhearted in ‘Tera Naam Sunke’ Video
The latest Punjabi song from the actor-singer also brings in composer-lyricist Nirmaan and producer Siddharth Amit Bhavsar
Actor and singer Aparshakti Khurana sings of heartbreak, but over buoyant, shimmering beats on his new song “Tera Naam Sunke,” a Punjabi tune that sounds like it’s made for sad hours on the dancefloor.
The song follows his previous release “Kudiye Ni,” a playful, wedding-themed collaboration with singer-composer Neeti Mohan. Safe to say, Khurana changes lanes with a different intent on “Tera Naam Sunke.” Produced by Siddharth Amit Bhavsar with music composed (and lyrics) by Nirmaan, there’s funk and house beats with a driving bassline that goes over sprightly guitar melodies.
He says in a statement, “After my music single ‘Kudiye Ni’ getting so much love on Instagram and Spotify, I think this was the right time to release the next one which sounds totally different from ‘Kudiye Ni.’ I wrote and composed and sung that one. This is written and composed by Nirmaan. I think Nirmaan has really brought out the best in me musically! I never had this vibe on music front, hoping for people to bless ‘Tera Naam Sunke’ as much as ‘Kudiye Ni’ or even more.”
The music video – directed by filmmaker and photographer Maan Boruah, features actor Nikita Dutta in the role of Khurana’s beloved. In “Tera Naam Sunke,” we get a look into their love story and how Khurana now laments the fading relationship. It certainly plays up Khurana’s acting chops, which was most seen this year in the Amazon Prime Video series Jubilee.
The singer says in a statement about his new song, “I think I am the best phase of my life personally and professionally. With winning back to back awards for Jubilee, getting appreciated at all the film festivals for [2023 spy thriller] Berlin, hosting, singing touchwood everything is going in the right direction.”
Up next, Khurana will be seen next in the Bollywood sequel Stree 2, and a documentary titled Finding Ram, produced by Applause Entertainment.
