Don’t let numbers dictate the way you make music
Over the last couple of years, and more so since the pandemic began, there’s been a high volume of releases from independent artists. While there’s been some stellar music dropped, there’s also been plenty of below-par average songs that have come out.
With modern technology making it convenient to produce music out of your bedroom, it’s hampered quality. Artists lately are keener on upping their social media numbers than focusing on their craft. If you’re an artist and are constantly looking at your “For Artist” account more times in a day than you should, this might be for you. Take a step back and ask yourself why you’re making music.
If it’s just for social media, then you’re doing it for the wrong reasons.
Remember, numbers are not important. What is important is that you put your heart and soul into writing, recording and producing your music and let that passion transmit to listeners to connect with.
