Over the last year, music lovers in India have been treated to a slew of music festivals of varying sizes across the country, ranging from massive multi-stage set-ups to more intimate indoor gigs. Adding to this line-up is the Lost music festival, a three-day multi-genre music festival, slated to be held in Pune in November.

At a press conference in Mumbai, Shailendra Singh, Jt. MD, Percept Ltd and actor Arjun Rampal, who is also one of the event promotors for the festival, announced plans to launch the new music festival that’s scheduled to take place between November 23 and November 25. Singh mentioned plans for three simultaneous road rallies from Goa, Bangalore and Mumbai that will eventually culminate at the festival.

While declining to name any acts that have been confirmed for the festival so far, Rampal said that they’ve been talking to a number of international big-name artists and talent management companies. Rampal even mentioned the world’s largest event promoter Live Nation in passing, leading us to believe that Singh and Rampal are thinking big when it comes to sourcing international headliners for their festival.

Singh’s company Percept Ltd. is also behind the Sunburn Festival, an electronic dance music festival that is now ranked among the country’s biggest EDM live events. Rampal, film actor, nightclub owner (he runs LAP in Delhi) and organizer of the LAP parties that included the much-hyped Lady Gaga show at last year’s inaugural F1 India event, acknowledged that “Bollywood and cricket don’t have to be the only entertainment available to people”. Talking about the festival, he said “Lost is to find yourself. I see it (the festival) being very Indian.”

Significantly, the timing coincides with the NH7 Weekender that takes place around the same time in Pune. Given the scale at which Shailendra Singh likes doing things, it will be interesting to compare the two festivals this November.
