Ashton Kutcher has signed on to play Apple icon Steve Jobs in a forthcoming biopic called Jobs, Variety reports. The film, to be directed by Joshua Michael Stern from a script by Matt Whiteley, will tell the story of Jobs’ life from his time as a hippie on through the founding of Apple.
The indie film is schedule to begin production in May when Kutcher is on hiatus from his sitcom, Two and a Half Men. Jobs will be the first of what could become a wave of films based on the Apple founder. Sony Pictures is currently developing its own Jobs picture based on Walter Isaacson’s recent biography, Steve Jobs.
