ASICS Cricket Shoes for Bowlers and All-Rounders Keep the Score at Fever Pitch

The recent collection might just be the easy buy for serious and seasonal players alike

It might be a few months down since the end of a mainstay event in the cricketing world – the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup tournament in October and November in India – but the excitement around the sport never stops.

With several tours scheduled for India’s Men in Blue and the women’s cricket team as well, the next big calendar event that everyone’s got in their sights is the T20 World Cup in June 2024, slated to be held in the West Indies. Several sporting labels have released collections for cricket players professional and semi-professional alike and ASICS has a few that caught our eye.

The Japanese sportswear brand, who are also the official footwear partner for Cricket Australia, have at least five different shoes out recently for the competitive cricketer across roles – batsman, bowler, fielder and all-rounder. There are specific shoes crafted for men and women and the unisex range.

Among the men’s collection, the Gel-Gully 7 adds heft and the Gel-Lethal Field (as the name suggests) speaks to the cut-throat nature of being on the field. The batting and fielding shoe Strike Rate FF, for its part, comes equipped the ASICS midsole technology called FlyteFoam, one that gives lightweight comfort underfoot. We’re giving special focus on two shoes as part of the collection – Speed Menace FF and 350 Not Out – and read below to see what ASICS has packed into these pairs.

SPEED MENACE FF

Color: White/Tuna Blue

Price: ₹13,999

Meant for bowlers with a focus on stability, and flexibility for the wearer, the Speed Menace FF is understandably suitable for the pacer who wants to land ever yorker right and never have a step out of place in their run-up to the pitch. Intended to support foot landing for fast bowlers, Speed Menace FF is crafted with Duomax technology on the medial and lateral side of the shoe, with an internal counter that is intended for “exceptional stability,” as its description mentions. With plenty of flexibility in forefooting, the pair aims to give a good grip while bowling.

350 NOT OUT FF

Color: White/Tuna Blue

Price: ₹13,999

Sturdy yet unencumbering to wear, the 350 Not Out FF is for all-rounders with a focus on durability and strength. Positioned for beginners, 350 Not Out FF is a turf cricket shoe that’s for anyone who’s playing the long game on the pitch. The pair comes with removable studs and rarefoot GEL to attenuate shock and the upper takes into account breathability and comfort, which are arguably among the most important things for anyone wearing one pair for shoes for an extended period of time.
