Astrobeats: Which New Song Releases Match Your Zodiac Sign?

From Mary Ann Alexander’s love-laden tunes, to Encore ABJ’s groovy bars, here’s a zodiac-coded playlist of the latest releases

Published by

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the Indian music scene has been belting out some pretty interesting EPs, albums, and tracks this past month. Whether it’s RANJ’s Tamil R&B prowess on 27 Club, Chaar Diwaari’s dissection of a fascination in Parwaana, or Naam Sujal’s signature wordplay in Mamafication, each release has its own archetype. From moody to grungy, sombre to energizing, rap anthems to romantic ballads, the range is as varied as zodiacal personality traits. Ever stumbled across a song while curating a playlist and wondered, “this was made for me?” Or guessed someone’s favorite track on the basis of their sun sign?

Stick around and find out which of these Indie picks score your astrological energy best.

Capricorn: “Who You Are” by RANJ and Clifr

Whether you’re getting ready to unleash boss mode at the workplace or unwind in your apartment after a long day of hustling, “Who You Are” by RANJ will keep fellow Capricorns company.  Rooted in feminine rage and defiance, the R&B track channels an older Tyler, the Creator–esque production style with a homegrown twist. The ambition cuts through clearly in lines like “So teach me how to play, show me and put me in the races,” while “Pain keeps moving my feet” captures that relentless urge to prove everyone wrong, an almost Icarus-like resilience. Being true to themselves is second nature to the earth signs; it’s who they are (pun intended).

Aquarius: “Promise” by Aditya Rikhari and Ravator

A song to score daydreams, “Promise” by Aditya Rikhari and Ravator is a mellow pop classic that fits like an earworm made for the always-wandering Aquarius mind. Whether you’re busy with whimsical Aquarius-coded side quests, brainstorming your next creative obsession or simply enjoying a serene sunset, Rikhari’s gentle vocals unpack new layers with every listen.

Pisces: “Pyaar Ki Si” by Nanku and Lambo Drive

Nanku leads the Piscean conclave of hopeless romantics, giving 2000s Emraan Hashmi movie soundtracks a modern spin. Smooth yet effervescent, “Pyaar Ki Si” packs in all the water sign traits, throwing in a little bit of madness and a whole lot of “Naughty Nanku” vibes into the mix.

Aries: “Kaanfidential” by Naam Sujal (Feat. Rebel 7)

A full-blown shutdown is about to ensue when you hand the aux chord to an Aries, and this song makes that sentiment known, loud and clear. Complementing the zodiac sign’s fiery god complex, Naam Sujal’s “Kaanfidential” is for the go-getters who treat competition more as fuel than a threat. An ode to the hot-headed ram, “Kaanfidential” is playful, in-your-face, and extremely charming. Leaving no room for stagnancy, Sujal’s track has Bollywood samples segueing into trap beats and wordplay that goes beyond standard rhyme schemes that will keep listeners on their toes.

Taurus: “Laying Low” by Vichaar

There’s a quiet Taurean confidence to Vichaar’s “Laying Low.” Grounded in a more sombre tonality, the introspective bars question the semantics of clout culture seeping into desi hip-hop. Standing your ground, staying in your lane, and being loyal to your vision — these almost read like the commandments of a Taurus.

Gemini: “Live Twice” by Clifr and The Siege

Pun very much intended. Like the hook in The Siege’s track, “Main Jeene Waala Do Baar,” Geminis are the zodiac’s ultimate life-maxxers, treating every milestone, curveball, and stepping stone as fuel for the next adventure. The rap packs a YOLO punch with streetside grit, while Clifr’s production taps into a “young, brown and fucked up” energy —something that air signs, with their love for freedom and autonomy, will instantly resonate with.

Cancer: “Aashiqana” by Chaar Diwaari, Indian Ocean, Gini

Soulful with a slow-burning intensity, this pick is to a Cancerian what a flame is to a moth, in that it would probably land with just the right amount of force during a 3 AM spiral. Water signs, known for flexing their vulnerabilities like it’s a prized possession, are as sensitive as they are emotionally intuitive, and “Aashiqana” captures that very sentiment. Straight out of a 2010s Bollywood film, its lyricism stands in striking contrast to the upbeat tempo, spinning “Prem Ki Lat,” a love that borders on addiction rather than adulation, in a strangely celebratory way.

Leo: “It’s About Time” by Naam Sujal (With Siyaahi and Dhanji)

If someone can rhyme “Bablu” with “LPW,” it’s Sujal. Featuring Amdavadi favorites Dhanji and Siyaahi, “It’s About Time” is suave, playful, and unapologetically charismatic. And for Leos, the walking main-character-energy signs, this feels like an anthem that ticks all the boxes. Fire signs are always on the quest for unconventionality, shuttling between zero to hundred without a breath in between, and bars like “What’s a DHH to a Sujal?” capture that same infallible confidence like it’s second nature.

Virgo: “Parinda” by Anubha Bajaj and  UNPLG’d

This is the kind of track that can make even zodiac perfectionists release the reins and give themselves time off from all that overachieving. For Earth signs who tend to use music as a way to unwind, unclench, and live in the present, Bajaj’s honey-like timbre, backed by the tranquility of repetitive guitar plucking, is a certified zen mode vibe-setter.

Libra: “Better Than This” by Mary Ann Alexander

For Libras who thrive on charm, romance, and the eternal quest for balance, Mary Ann Alexander’s “Better Than This” hits all the right notes. As her smooth voice glides over bouncy beats, the track radiates warmth and easygoing optimism, making it an instant earworm for Libras who like to sand down the rough edges and look at the brighter side of things.

Scorpio: Chaand (Tu Jo Dekh Le) by Chaar Diwaari and Encore ABJ

A track straight from the heart, “Chaand (Tu Jo Dekh Le)” is an homage to all those who watch from the sidelines and tightly bottle up their confessions. Scorpios have earned a reputation for being cold-hearted badasses, when in fact their undying passion is what should be given the bigger spotlight. As Diwaari’s wistful voice meets Encore ABJ’s contemplative bars, a whirlwind of love, hate, devotion, and contempt is shaken up like a snow globe. The track transforms from a desi Tim Burton-esque moodiness to a distorted cacophony of chaos, all felt and reciprocated with the kind of intensity Scorpios can’t seem to stay away from.

Sagittarius: “Bonita” by Agsy and MXRCI

Fire sign rule number 1: you bow your head for no one, level up, and never lose your bluntness. Punjabi rapper Agsy’s “Bonita” dials up this very manifesto. Blasting the heat while cooking up bars on her EP Rap Ki Rasoi, she takes every jab thrown at her and flips it on its head, owning her loud, fashionably late female hip-hop artist persona by throwing an Uno reverse to the haters with the kind of nonchalance that could make any Sagittarius proud.
