Earlier this year, the 2Stroke tour saw the unlikely combination of post rockers Aswekeepsearching and Chennai garage/alt rockers Skrat perform across five cities to venues full of enthusiastic crowds.

2Stroke manager Udippan Sarmah [guitarist and vocalist of Aswekeepsearching] who was one of the driving forces behind the June tour, is now putting together another gig at BFlat Bengaluru featuring a mixed lineup as opposed to a post-rock centric show. Joining the Pune-based are fellow post rockers Farfetch’d and alt-rock band Grey Matter, who will also be launching their EP. Says Sarmah, “Organizing a gig is always fun because it’s your own event, like building a house. The 2Stroke Tour turned out to be profitable not only monetarily but also huge response from people judging from the packed venues.”

Aswekeepsearching will now share the stage with lesser known Bengaluru post rock band, Farfetch’d. Having played only four gigs previously despite releasing their debut album The Alchemist in 2013, the band is hoping to gain a following with this gig and will perform most of their songs including “This Insignificant Little Thing,” “Inert” and “Volatile.” Says guitarist Akash Murthy, “We’re pretty excited to perform at BFlat; the band has always planned on playing with similar musicians. We’ve never had the opportunity to do that though, since post-rock is a relatively niche genre.”

What’s more, alt-rockers Grey Matter will be launching their EP on the same night. The band has played several venues across the country and even opened for longstanding funk rock act Junkyard Groove in the past.

Aswekeepsearching, Farfetch’d and Grey Matter will perform on August 8th at BFlat Bar, Bengaluru, 8.30 pm onwards. Entry: Rs. 350 + Rs. 150 cover
