An authorized Notorious B.I.G. documentary, made with the approval and cooperation of the late rapper’s estate, is in the works ahead of the 20th anniversary of Christopher Wallace’s March 1997 death.

Dubbed Notorious B.I.G.: One More Chance, the film will directed by the Malloy Brothers, the duo behind dozens of music videos (Metallica’s “St. Anger,” White Stripes’ “Icky Thump”) as well as the White Stripes’ Under the Great White Northern Lights concert film.

Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace will serve as producer alongside Submarine and ByStorm Films, the production companies announced Monday at the Berlin Film Festival, Variety reports.

“It brings so much joy to my heart that my son Christopher’s music has made such an impact on the music community and his stories have positively inspired so many young men and women over the years, and still influencing the youth all over the world today,” Wallace said in a statement.

Submarine previously produced music-related documentaries like Searching for Sugarman, Miss Sharon Jones! and Nas: Time Is Illmatic.

While the Notorious B.I.G. has been the subject of numerous documentaries ”“ most notably Nick Broomfield’s Biggie & Tupac and 2007’s Bigger Than Life ”“ One More Chance will be the first to be made in collaboration with the rapper’s estate.

Voletta Wallace previously gave her blessing to the 2009 biopic Notorious starring Jamal Woolard in the Biggie role; Woolard once again portrays the rapper in the upcoming Tupac Shakur film All Eyez on Me.

A scripted comedy based on Biggie’s lyrics, Think B.I.G., is also in development, as is a Johnny Depp-starring film about the investigator in the rapper’s murder case.
